So it seemed only natural that we would make tortilla pizza! And we’ve even made tortilla pizza in the air fryer to make it easier!

How to make crispy tortilla pizza with step-by-step instructions

Preheat your oven to 425°F/220°C.

Place your flour tortillas on a flat work surface.

Spreading pizza sauce onto the tortillas.
Spread pizza sauce over the tortilla, leaving ½ inch border.

Scatter cheese over the sauce.

Add your favorite toppings.

If you like your tortillas crispy, brush them lightly with olive oil, and spread pizza sauce (you can use marinara sauce) on your tortillas, leaving a ½ inch border.

Sprinkle the vegetarian Parmesan cheese over the pizza sauce; then scatter shredded mozzarella cheese, followed by the vegetarian pepperoni.

Cooke for approximately 5 minutes.

Slice and serve your homemade pizza.

Place the flour tortilla on a baking stone, cast iron skillet, or baking sheet, and cook for approximately 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is crispy and golden.

Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves and optional red pepper flakes.

Serve your crispy tortilla pizzas immediately, and enjoy!

  • You can use either flour or corn tortillas. Corn tortillas will have a stronger flavor, but they will be nice and crispy; it’s your preference.
  • Cooking
  • If you prefer, place your pizza in a cast iron skillet, move the oven rack approximately 6 inches from the broiler, and broil until the cheese has melted and the pizza is hot.
  • Storage
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, but for best results, cook fresh.

How to store leftover tortilla pizza

Cool the tortilla pizza to room temperature to stop it from sweating and becoming soggy, and then place it in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

These pizzas are always best when fresh, so we recommend making them as and when you want to eat them to get the freshest crispy pizza crust.

Out of tortillas?

If you are out of tortillas and want to avoid the fuss of pizza dough (although we have to admit that we have a fantastic Ooni pizza dough recipe), try English muffin pizzas, flatbread pizza, or pizza bagels.

Pizza toppings and sauce

Be creative and use your favorite toppings; recreate a Margherita pizza or an olive pizza; don’t overload your toppings, or the tortilla will go soggy.

  • 2 Tortillas
  • ½ cup Pizza sauce
  • 6 tbsp Vegetarian Parmesan cheese finely shredded
  • ½ cup Mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 10 Vegetarian pepperoni slices
  • 1 handful Basil leaves roughly torn
  • Red pepper flakes optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F/220°C.
  • Place your tortillas on a flat work surface and spread pizza sauce on your tortillas, leaving a ½ inch border. Sprinkle the vegetarian Parmesan cheese over the pizza sauce, then scatter shredded mozzarella, followed by the vegetarian pepperoni.
