If you are using an Ooni pizza oven
Preheat our Ooni pizza oven to 850°F/450°C.
Lightly dust your pizza peel with flour, then place your flatbread dough on the peel.
To make the Margherita flatbread
Place the flatbread
Remove from the oven, scatter with fresh basil leaves and an optional drizzle of olive oil, serve and enjoy!
If you are using a kitchen oven
Preheat our oven to 500°F/260°C, and if you use a pizza stone or pizza steel, place it in the oven to heat up.
Lightly dust your work surface, pizza pan, or baking sheet with flour, then place your flatbread dough on it.

- ¼ cup pizza sauce
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella log sliced
- 16 ounces vine tomatoes sliced
- 1 handful fresh basil torn
- Red pepper flakes optional
Instructions
If you are using an Ooni pizza oven:
- Preheat our Ooni pizza oven to 850°F/450°C.
- Lightly dust your pizza peel with flour, then place your flatbread dough on the peel. Brush pizza sauce over the top of the bread, leaving ¼ inch border, then add fresh mozzarella cheese and sliced tomatoes evenly over the sauce.4 flatbread, ¼ cup pizza sauce, 8 ounces fresh mozzarella log, 16 ounces vine tomatoes
- Place the flatbread pizza in the oven and cook for two to three minutes, turning every 20 seconds with a pizza turning peel to ensure an even cook. If you are using a kitchen oven:
- Preheat your oven to 450°F/230°C, if you are using a pizza stone, place this in the oven to heat up.
- Spread pizza sauce on the flatbread, leaving a ½ inch border. Then add tomatoes and mozzarella evenly over the sauce, and then place the pizza either directly on the pizza stone or on a baking sheet and cook until the crust is golden brown and the cheese has melted, approximately 10 minutes. Remove from the oven, scatter with fresh basil leaves and an optional drizzle of olive oil and red pepper flakes, serve and enjoy!¼ cup pizza sauce, 8 ounces fresh mozzarella log, 1 handful fresh basil, Red pepper flakes, 16 ounces vine tomatoes

Accidentally stumbled upon your pizza recipe last week and decided to make it for Friday dinner. We had a party of 8 people, so these pizza was perfect dinner! They ate the whole batch and I had to make a second one. The ingredients work so well together and the fresh basil with pepper made for a winning combination. I recommend serving them piping hot because the mozzarella did a nice stretch. I used naan bread to make these pizza.

I made these last night and was so impressed! I have such a craving for pizza all the time but it’s just not that convenient for me to get to the store so to have these ingredients on hand is a much better idea for when the cravings strike.
I loved the way the flatbreads tasted with the pizza toppings. I’m definitely going to always have a pack of these at home to do this again. No more messing around with pizza dough. This is just as delicious and you can add any toppings you want so the variations are endless.
I went with cheese and tomato with basil too though, and they were just perfect 🙂 and the hubby loved them as well.
