Welcome to our website! Let’s tell you a little bit about Splash of Taste.
On the left is Mandy, on the right is Jane and in the middle is Bolly (don’t worry, she doesn’t get anywhere near the kitchen)!
2020 was a crazy year for everyone. When our corporate events business was put on hold, we couldn’t just sit still and wait for the pandemic to pass and that’s when we created ‘Splash of Taste‘.
We’ve combined our passion for tasty food and mouth-watering drinks with our experience of organising events and food tastings for over 20 years.
We’ve extensive experience in working with top chefs throughout the UK to create menus for our clients that are exceptional in their taste and appeal to all types of palates.
So this seemed a natural project to work on.
It was a different direction, but do you know what? We love it!
We’ve been totally blown away with the huge response to our website, such wonderfully positive reviews – so thank you!
Everything you see on our website has been cooked or made by either Mandy or Jane, nothing gets on here before we test, refine and approve it, which means you can rely on the recipe.
If we’ve been sponsored to use a particular product then we’ll clearly state it, but even so, we’ll give a fair and honest opinion about the product.
So, enough about Splash of Taste, what are we waiting for? Let’s get busy in the kitchen!
Mandy and Jane
It’s good to meet you
The people behind Splash of Taste
It’s a prerequisite to say that both Jane and Mandy love cooking but one of Jane’s passions is for developing different cocktails.
With a particular eye and palate for pairing cocktails with party themes, Jane loves planning every last detail for an evening.
Food and drinks must go perfectly together and she tirelessly works to ensure she develops the perfect combination.
When asked what food she couldn’t live without, Jane didn’t hesitate to say ‘curry’ and her favorite curry? ‘vegetable bhuna’ – good choice Jane!
When she’s not in the kitchen, Jane loves to travel and can’t wait until she’s out exploring again.
“I can’t wait to go back to the Far East again,” she says “the flavors and combinations there are incredible.”
Jane’s also an avid keep-fit fanatic, she’s completed a half triathlon and she runs whenever she can. She’s been going skiing since she was knee-high to a grasshopper and even the most extreme of black runs doesn’t scare her!
Mandy re-discovered her passion for cooking during the lockdown. You could always find her in the kitchen trying out a recipe.
Mandy seems to have a knack for layering flavors and loves nothing better than feeding people.
Being a vegetarian for over 35 years, you’ll find a lot of recipes on this site that are either vegetarian or vegan, but all can be adapted to include meat or fish.
She still remembers the days when a vegetarian meal was everything that the meat-eaters had, except the meat and gravy. Thankfully, things have come a long way since then!
Mandy has even been invited to become the recipe writer for her local newspaper The Stroud Times, which is very exciting.
Which food couldn’t Mandy live without? ‘Cheese, especially our four cheese and mushroom lasagne‘ well, who can blame her?
When she’s not in the kitchen, Mandy can be found walking Bolly in the glorious countryside of the Cotswolds.
Mandy also loves scuba diving, with over 100 dives under her belt, she’s been diving with sharks, turtles, dolphins, octopus, and a whole host of exotic fish.
Wanna be taster and morale booster!
Bollys mantra is to eat, walk, sleep, eat some more and repeat.
She’s always eager to try any type of food that’s going, unfortunately for Bolly, she’s not allowed in the kitchen when we’re devising new recipes!
Which food couldn’t Bolly live without? Let’s see… chicken, bread, snacks, treats…let’s face it, Bolly thinks she needs to eat EVERYTHING! If only we could do the same and keep as slim as she does!
A very fit 11-year old girl, when she’s not eating or walking, Bolly can be found sitting on a comfy chair enjoying a well-deserved cuddle.
