Recipe notes and expert tips

  • Peanut butter
Use chunky or creamy peanut butter, but avoid using natural peanut butter.
  • Scoop
We recommend using a scoop for scooping up even-sized cookie dough; it just makes life a lot easier.
  • Watch closely
Every air fryer cooks differently; different brands and capacities can mean that your cookies will need either a longer or shorter cooking time, so make sure you keep a close eye on them.

What do I serve cookies with?

Have you ever tried freshly cooked chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies with vanilla ice cream?

If you haven’t – you NEED to – they’re absolutely delicious!

But then just sitting in a comfy chair with a glass of milk, or a cup of coffee, and a cookie is just as good.

What type of peanut butter should I use for these cookies?

When it comes to choosing a type of peanut butter, there are two main options: smooth or chunky.

Smooth peanut butter will give you a cookie that is soft and chewy, while chunky peanut butter will add a bit of texture and crunch to your chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies.

Play with the flavor

While we think that we’ve made the perfect peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, there’s always scope for extra – right?

You could add chopped nuts, macadamia nuts are great in cookies, use your favorite nuts.

Sub out chocolate chips for cinnamon chips, or white chocolate chips.

Add a little of what you love.

Can I use parchment paper in an air fryer?

You can but it won’t do a good job.

The whole purpose of an air fryer is so the hot air circulates around the cookies, so using parchment paper means that the air won’t circulate underneath.

You can buy air fryer parchment paper or, what’s better, air fryer silicone baking mats.

Air fryer silicone baking mats have small holes so that the air can circulate and ensure that your cookies bake evenly.

How do I store leftovers?

Not only are our cookies easy to air fry, but they’re also easy to store.

You can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

The cookie dough will freeze for up to 3 months, we suggest storing them in cookie portions so you can pull them out of the freezer whenever you have a craving.

You can cook frozen cookie dough, just give them a little longer in your air fryer oven.

Cooked cookies will also store for up to 3 months, defrost before eating.
