Every air fryer cooks differently, different brands and capacities can mean that your cookies, will need either a longer or shorter cooking time, so make sure you keep a close eye on them.
How does an air fryer cook?
Air fryers have a motor at the top of the machine, this circulates very hot air down onto the food and all around it.
It initiates the process of deep-frying without having to deep fry.
This means that generally, air frying is a healthier way of cooking.
So, it’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s healthier.
It’s a win-win all around, isn’t it!
Which Air fryer should I use?
Ask different people what their favorite air fryer is and there’s a good chance you’ll get different answers.
In the past, we’ve used the Ninja brand and they do make a good air fryer.
But these days, we’re leaning towards the Instant pot air fryer range.
We’ve had it a little while now and it always cooks well.
Instant Pot Vortex 4-in-1 Air Fryer 5.7L
Our favorite air fryer is the Instant pot Vortex and we like this for its intuitive display, the filter stops lasting food smells, and you can see your food cooking through the glass panel and light function.
What do I serve air fryer carrots with?
This tasty little side dish is perfect when served with our delicious nut roast, alongside roasted potatoes, roast parsnips, air fryer Brussels sprouts, and mashed potatoes.
We also love eating them as a snack and will dip them in ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing!
What are the best carrots to use in an air fryer?
The best carrots to roast in an air fryer are the larger fresh carrots, we peel our carrots, but you could scrub them clean instead.
Rainbow carrots are also great for air frying, not only tasting nice but they look appealing.
You don’t want to go too large as they tend to become a little woody in flavor.
Baby carrots would work, but we’ve found that using large carrots produces the best flavor when roasting in an air fryer.
Hot or cold?
I’m probably going to be quite controversial here, but I’m thinking that I can’t be alone in this one – can I?
I eat them both hot and cold!
Eaten fresh and hot and straight out of the air fryer they are sublime.
But opening the fridge up the next day, dipping them in ranch dressing, and popping them in your mouth, they just taste SO good!
Maybe it’s because I feel I’m being naughty having a crafty snack.
I’m not sure, I just know that I love them!
Play with the flavors
We always recommend a little experimentation with flavors!
The best thing to do is to make our version of air fryer carrots and then add a little of something that you love.
Leave out the garlic powder and use onion powder instead.
You could add a little heat, cayenne pepper, or chili powder.
Sub out the fresh parsley for fresh thyme.
Instead of olive oil try avocado oil or even coconut oil.
You do you – go with the flavors you love, and you can’t go far wrong!
How do I store them?
Our air fryer carrots will keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
You can easily reheat them in the air fryer at 325°F/160°C for 5 minutes.
Or try them cold, we think they taste great – what do you think?
