Recipe notes and expert tips bullet point

  • Grapes: We used a mix of red and green grapes, but feel free to stick to just seedless green grapes or seedless red grapes or add some black grapes. Seedless grapes are ideal as they require less work, but remove the seeds after cutting if you don’t have red and green seedless grapes.
  • Substitute Greek yogurt: You can substitute sour cream for plain Greek yogurt. We recommend full-fat yogurt for that thick, rich, creamy flavor!
  • Brown sugar: Granulated sugar is a good option to use instead of light brown sugar if needed.
  • Cream cheese: This needs to be full-fat cream cheese and softened so that it’s easier to mix with the other ingredients. We take the package of cream cheese out of the fridge a couple of hours before we throw this grape salad recipe together.
  • Make ahead: This is a great recipe to make the day before. True, it only takes 5 minutes to throw together (which makes it an easy fruit salad for impromptu casual gatherings), but chilling it in the fridge makes it taste even more delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day!
  • Vegan option: It’s so simple to make this vegan! Use vegan cream cheese and vegan sour cream or yogurt.

How to store leftover Grape Salad

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

How to prepare fresh grapes

Remove the stems; they can become a choking hazard for children. Wash the grapes thoroughly and dry them with paper towels.

You can either use whole grapes or you can slice them in half; if you have grapes with seeds in them, we recommend halving them and removing the seeds.

What to serve with fruit salad

Fruit salad goes with just about anything to add a pop of cold sweetness to a plate, but we especially love digging into this recipe in the summer months!

We love to fire up the grill and serve this grape salad with our Beetroot and Grilled Halloumi Salad. They pair perfectly! We’ll also throw some veggie sausages, Cajun Corn on the Cob, or Chili Lime Corn on the Cob on the grill to make it a meal and have leftovers for later.

More of a pizza fan? This is the best grape salad when you’re firing up a pizza in your outdoor Ooni Pizza Oven. We absolutely love making homemade pizza so be sure to check out our Artichoke Pizza, Neapolitan pizza, mushroom pizza, and spinach pizza. They are all amazing!
