Recipe Notes and Expert Tips
- Preheat for Perfection: Always preheat your air fryer for a few minutes before adding the potatoes to ensure even cooking.
- Uniform Sizing: Try to keep your baby potatoes similar in size so they all cook at the same rate. The cooking time will vary for larger potatoes.
- Dry Them Well: After washing, pat the potatoes dry to help the seasonings adhere better and for crispier results.
- Season Generously: Don’t be shy with herbs and spices; the right seasonings can elevate the dish.
- Single Layer Rule: Place the potatoes in a single layer in the basket to avoid steam build-up, which can make them soggy.
- Shake It Up: Halfway through cooking, give the basket a good shake to ensure all sides get that crispy texture.
- Test for Doneness: Use a fork to check if they’re cooked through; it should easily pierce the potato.
- Pre-washed: Buy baby potatoes that have already been washed and then wipe them with a damp cloth to save time. If they aren’t prewashed, then wash and dry baby potatoes well before seasoning.
- Let Them Rest: Give the potatoes a couple of minutes to rest after cooking. This helps the exterior maintain its crispiness.
