How to make white chocolate chip cookies with step by step instructions

Making our white chocolate chip cookies is easy if you follow our simple instructions.

In a large bowl, using either a stand mixer or an electric hand mixer, cream unsalted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract, until it’s fluffy.

Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
All the ingredients mixed together to form cookie dough.
Cream butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Then add eggs and mix until combined. Then add dry ingredients and fold in the white chocolate chips.

Then, add eggs and mix until fully combined. 

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until virtually incorporated, then fold the semi sweet chocolate chips into the mixture. 

Cover your mixing bowl with plastic wrap and place the cookie dough in the fridge for 45 minutes. 

It’s important to chill the cookie dough if you don’t, you’ll find that the cookies will spread and become very flat. 

Preheat your oven to 350F/175C.

Scoop the chilled cookie dough into balls and place on a prepared baking sheet approximately 1½ inches apart.

Bake for 10 – 12 minutes until they are lightly golden around the edges.

Once the cookie dough has chilled, using a cookie scoop, scoop the dough into dough balls, approximately 2 tablespoons, and place them 1½ inches apart from each other on cookie sheets or baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

Place them in your preheated oven and bake until they are slightly golden around the edges, approximately 10 – 12 minutes. 

Remove the baked cookies from the oven, leave them for a few minutes to cool, and then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Butter
    Softened your butter by leaving it out at room temperature for 30 minutes and if you use salted butter then omit the salt in the recipe. 
  • Chocolate chips
    If you run out of white chocolate chips, then use milk chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, or a mixture of what you have. 
  • Storage
    Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, and freeze for up to 3 months.

How to store leftover cookies

Your cookies will store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

You can also freeze them for up to 3 months. 

We recommend flash freezing baked cookies for 30 minutes and then placing them in a freezer proof bag or container, this way, you’ll be able to pull out a cookie whenever you get the craving.

Can I cook cookie dough from frozen?

Yes, you can.

We recommend freezing the cookie dough in portions, so it’s easy to pull out the amount you need, rather than having to bake an entire batch.

Simply place them on the baking sheet as in the instructions and give them a few extra minutes to cook.

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 cup Packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • cups All purpose flour

  • 2 cups White chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Heat your oven to 360F.

  • Preheat your oven to 350F/175C.
  • Scoop the cookie dough and make a ball of approximately 2 tablespoons and place them 1½ inches apart, on your prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake your cookies until they are slightly golden around the edges, approximately 10 – 2 minutes.
  • Remove the cooked cookies from the oven, leave for a few minutes and then transfer them to a cooling rack.
  • Enjoy your cookies!
