Ideal at a summer party, BBQ, or for cocktails in the garden for friends, you’ll want to make this again and again!

You’ll be enjoying this delicious cocktail in just 5 minutes – how quick is that?

This is the only strawberry daiquiri recipe you’ll ever need!

Ingredients for a strawberry daiquiri recipe, sugar syrup, white rum, lime juice and lime sugar.

What alcohol goes in this?

For our strawberry daiquiri recipe, we use only one type of alcohol, and that’s white rum.

What rum should you use? A brand you like. Buy the best rum for you.

Does it have a strong alcohol taste?

No, it doesn’t. The flavor of the fresh berries, along with the fresh lime juice and sugar syrup, means that the rum is certainly not the prominent taste of the drink.

Are these the same as frozen strawberry daiquiris?

No, these are different from frozen strawberry daiquiris.

There are three kinds of daiquiris that you can make, all of which use fresh strawberries.

The first is a frozen strawberry daiquiri which is made in a blender; it incorporates crushed ice and has the same consistency as a slush puppy.

The second is a strawberry daiquiri on the rocks, this is made in a cocktail shaker and then the daiquiri is poured over ice in a glass.

The third type of strawberry daiquiri is a straight-up version; that’s what this recipe is. This is where it’s been shaken in a cocktail shaker with a good handful of ice and then poured into a glass with no ice.

Can I use frozen strawberries?

We always say fresh is best and fresh strawberries make an incredible daiquiri.

However, we are realists and know that fresh strawberries don’t grow all year round, so yes, you can use frozen strawberries.

See how simple it is to make a strawberry puree.

In fact, we always buy a few extra punnets when they are in season, pop them in the blender and freeze them so that we can enjoy strawberry daiquiris in the winter!

And if you’re using frozen strawberries, why not turn your cocktails into frozen strawberry daiquiris instead?

Just follow the recipe but put everything in the blender instead of the cocktail shaker and give it a blitz until it’s nice and smooth and hey presto, you have a frozen daiquiri!

Can I use bottled lime juice?

Bottled lime juice doesn’t come anywhere close to the fresh citrus taste of fresh lime juice.

Fresh lime juice that you have squeezed yourself and when you think it’ll take just a minute to make, then why wouldn’t you use fresh lime juice?

What equipment do I need?

For our strawberry daiquiri, you’ll need a blender, cocktail shaker, lime juicer, jigger, Hawthorne strainer, and a cocktail glass.

A lime zester, fresh limes and a bowl of sweet lime sugar.

How do I make a sugar rim?

We think that a sugared rim completes a strawberry daiquiri, and ours is just a little bit special.

We make a lime zest sugared rim, the sharp citrus flavor of the lime contrasts beautifully with the sugar and creates a wonderful prelude to your delicious strawberry daiquiri.

What garnish should I use?

The obvious choice for a strawberry daiquiri garnish has to be a strawberry!

You could also garnish your great cocktail with lime wheels or lime slices as well, but we think the sweetness of the sugar rim goes perfectly with a sweet strawberry.

What glass is best for this cocktail?

A cocktail glass with a wide rim is ideal for our strawberry daiquiri.

A coupe glass is perfect but don’t get too hung up on the glasses; a martini glass or margarita glass would work just as well.

What’s the best occasion to serve this at?

Strawberry daiquiris can be served on lots of different occasions, including;

  • Summer party
  • BBQ
  • Girls night
  • Cocktail hour
  • Pre-dinner drinks
  • Bachelorette party
  • Hen night
  • Or in the back garden on a hot summer evening.

Can I make this ahead?

Yes, you definitely can!

Our recipe makes 1 strawberry daiquiri drink, but you’ll see an option in the recipe card for increasing the servings.

Just mix how many daiquiris you’d like to make and then store them so they are chilling in the fridge.

When you’re ready to serve your drinks then, just give the mixture a good stir.

This makes our strawberry daiquiri recipe a perfect drink choice for serving at a party!

Recipe notes and tips

  • Don’t have a blender?
Our strawberry daiquiri recipe is worth getting creative to make. You could use a fork or a potato masher, and you could even put your strawberries in a airtight ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to puree them – where there’s a will, there’s a way!
  • Not a fan of strawberry pips?
Pass your strawberry puree through a sieve before adding it to your drink.
  • Remember to make your sugar rim before you pour your strawberry daiquiri into the glass; once the liquid is in, you can’t turn it upside down to rim it!
  • In two minds about the sugar rim? We love strawberry daiquiris with sugar rims but if you are not so sure, why not just have the sugar around half of the rim? This way, you can see the difference it makes.
  • If you don’t have a cocktail shaker then it’s not the end of the world. Just take a sterilized jar with a lid, pour all of the daiquiri ingredients into it, put the lid on it, and shake
