The coffee liqueur imitates the beer, and the Irish cream looks like the frothy top.

Just two ingredients, Irish cream, and coffee liqueur.
What’s the best coffee liqueur to use?
By far the most popular coffee liqueur is Kahlua, Tia Maria is another very popular brand.
If you want to push the boat out then you can try a more expensive coffee liqueur, but this is a fun cocktail shot, so don’t break the bank.

How to make a baby Guinness shot with step-by-step instructions
Making our baby Guinness cocktail is easy if you follow our simple instructions.

Fill a shot glass two thirds full of Kahlua and then, using the back of a spoon, gently pour Irish cream on top of the Kahlua, to create a mini Guinness head floating on top.
It may take a few minutes for the layer to settle.

Kahlua is a dark-colored coffee liqueur, which forms the bottom of the baby Guinness cocktail.
Kahlua is a brand of coffee liqueur, you don’t have to use this specific brand, you can use the coffee liqueur that you prefer.
A tray full of baby Guinness’ at the beginning of a party really makes an impression, even better if that party is to celebrate St Patrick’s Day!
What Irish cream liqueur is best?
Irish cream liqueur is a version of Irish whiskey and there are many different brands.
We use the Irish cream on top of the coffee liqueur, it forms the head of the miniature pint of Guinness.
We’ve used Baileys Irish cream but there are many different versions, including store own brands, so just use the version that you prefer.
The secret of pouring the baby Guinness with a perfect head

Use a teaspoon.
Yes, that’s it, use a teaspoon and in particular, the back of a spoon.
If you place the spoon so the tip is ever so slightly in the coffee liqueur and then very slowly.
The Irish cream is poured down the back of the spoon and onto the top of the coffee liqueur, this will give you a perfect head every time!
What does a baby Guinness cocktail taste like?
A baby Guinness shot is designed to drink in one go, you knock back the drink all in one.
The creamy sweetness of the Irish cream on top contrasts with the deep slightly bitter coffee liqueur.
Once you master this recipe, the only problem you’ll have is wanting to make another!

It’s got notes of chocolate and coffee that go perfectly with the bitter hoppy and sweet malty taste.

Try coffee-flavored tequila instead, cafe patron make a good one, or use black sambuca and create a drink similar to the legendary slippery nipple.
- Keep it cool
If you like your shots cool, then use a chilled glass, for your baby Guinness.
- Slowly does it
Pour the Irish cream slowly, use the back of a spoon that is just slightly resting its tip in the coffee liqueur, pour slowly and you will achieve the perfect head for your shot.
