People love the most weirdest of food combos! Recently someone asked people ‘what’s a food combo you love that people think you’re weird for?’ Here are some of the responses.
Hot Dogs With…
One reason I love hot dogs as the true Americana food instead of pizza is because regional varieties are so different. With hot dogs though? Some have chili, some are white, some put two dogs in the bun, some will put fish cakes in it, some will be neon red, some will be shoved inside a Pretzle, and I’m listing like 5% of the different regional varieties here and not even close to the weirdest ones. There are truly no rules when it comes to hot dogs.”
Bananas With Bones
This combo is not as sinister as it may initially seem… “One of my grandmothers used to like stuffing a few pretzel sticks down a banana. Salt and the crunch with the banana are a surprisingly decent mix of texture and flavor. She called it “Bananas with bones”
Peanut Butter, Mayo Bananas
Can you believe this response? “I once saw my grandma put peanut butter and mayonnaise on a banana and eat it, so if there’s a list of Food Crimes, I’m putting that on it.” But it didn’t appeal to everyone; “Peanut butter and bananas are a fantastic combination, but the mayonnaise makes this an abomination.”
Here’s an awesome peanut butter pie.
Peanut Butter and Onion Sandwich
Who wants peanut butter and jelly when you can have something more outlandish? “Not me, but my partner frequently makes a peanut butter and onion sandwich….” to which someone replied “While I enjoy both I can’t imagine a grosser bad breath combination.”
Waffles With Cream Cheese and Jelly
We all love waffles – right? But this…could you? “Another thing to try is cream cheese and jelly between two waffles and then microwaved for 30 seconds. It’s gooey heaven!”
Sausage McMuffin, Hash Brown and Jelly
There’s a line and it needs to be drawn here… “Sausage McMuffin with hash brown and grape jelly. I assumed this was pretty common, but I have never come across another person who does this. most people think it’s gross.”
French Fries Dipped in Chocolate Shake
The rest of the world disagrees with America. “Apparently non Americans really get grossed out when we dip our French fries in our chocolate shake.”
Cheese and Apple Pie
“I don’t even normally do this, but I mentioned it once and always get grief for its weirdness: Cheese (normally American or cheddar) on apple pie.” to which someone else responded “My great-grandfather on my grandma’s side reportedly used to say “an apple with the cheese is like a hug without the squeeze.”

Yogurt and Rice
“Okay, this is something I got from my family, who is from another country. Hear me out, Yogurt and rice. Plain yogurt, to be exact, and can be Greek or regular.”
Potato Chips and Spaghettios
“Potato chips and spaghettios. I’ll eat chips without spaghettios, but never spaghettios without chips. Also, it must be Lays. I rarely eat this anymore, but when I do, I always snap a pic to send to my sister ’cause it’s our thing.”
Cheerios and OJ
“Cheerios and orange juice instead of milk.” to which someone added “
When I was a kid in the early 80s, sometimes I’d eat Rice Krispies with apple juice. There were far fewer flavor variations back then, and it was actually pretty good.”
Tuna and Spicy V8
“I used to eat tuna and spicy v8 like every day my first year in college. It gave me some paint-peeling gas that almost killed my roommate.”
