Air Fryer Pizza Rolls

Air Fryer Pizza Rolls are what I make when snack cravings hit and I don’t want to wait on the oven. The pizza dough rolls up with gooey sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni in a pretty spiral pattern. They come out perfectly golden and crisp with melty cheese inside. You’ll love watching everyone grab them straight off the plate.

Making homemade pizza rolls from scratch in the air fryer is easier than you think, and they turn out so much better than frozen ones.

Prepare the Pizza Dough

Divide your pizza dough in half using a pizza wheel, then on a lightly floured surface, roll out two rectangular shapes with a rolling pin, approximately 10 x 12 inches each.

Use your fingers to push dents into both rectangular doughs to prevent them from bubbling while they cook.

Add the Toppings

Brush both pizza dough tops with olive oil using a silicone pastry brush. Spread pizza sauce evenly on your dough and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. I love using my homemade pizza sauce because it always tastes fresher than any store-bought versions I’ve tried before.

Add shredded mozzarella cheese and then lay the vegetarian pepperoni evenly on top, leaving ½ inch at the edge. If you want, add or swap in Parmesan cheese for a more subtle nutty flavor, though it might not melt as smoothly as mozzarella.

Roll and Chill

Roll your rectangular pizzas into tight logs and place them on a baking sheet seam-side down. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to help them hold their shape when you slice them.

Preheat the Air Fryer

Preheat your air fryer to 400°F/200°C while the dough logs chill.

Slice and Brush

Take your pizza logs out of the fridge and cut each log into 12×1-inch slices using a serrated bread knife. Brush the exterior of the rolls with olive oil so they get nice and crispy.

Air Fry the Pizza Rolls

Place the pizza rolls in air fryer basket, making sure they don’t touch so the air can circulate around them and they cook evenly. You’ll probably have to cook them in batches. Air-fry for 8-10 minutes, until they are perfectly crispy and golden brown.

If you’re cooking pizza rolls frozen, preheat your air fryer to 380°F/190°C. Place your frozen pizza rolls in the air fryer basket or a silicone air fryer liner in a single layer, and make sure you don’t overcrowd them, or you won’t get crispy pizza rolls.

You’re going to reduce the cook time a bit. Cook for 6-8 minutes, giving the basket a good shake halfway through for even cooking. When they’re ready and fully cooked, let them cool for a few minutes, as they will be very hot inside.

Air fry in a single layer for 6–10 minutes, shaking halfway for that perfect golden crunch.

Serve and Enjoy

Serve immediately and garnish with an extra sprinkling of shredded mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and a dipping sauce. We love dipping them in marinara sauce!

Enjoy!

These air-fried pizza rolls travel well to hangouts, parties, and casual gatherings, making them ideal for a quick snack away from home. Pack them well in an airtight container in a single layer or with parchment in between if you’re stacking them.

They can stay fresh and delicious even at room temperature for a few hours, but if you want to keep them warm until you arrive, transport them in an insulated carrier.

Air Fryer Pizza Rolls

Air Fryer Pizza Rolls are my favorite homemade version of the classic snack everyone loves. Pizza dough filled with pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella, and vegetarian pepperoni creates beautiful visible layers. The outside is golden and crispy while the cheese melts perfectly inside. I make them for Super Bowl parties, sleepovers, movie nights, and family pizza nights because they're crowd-pleasers and easy to customize. Serve them hot for the best melty cheese texture. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Notes

I’ve got a few tips to help you get the best results for these air fryer pizza rolls every time.
Push dents into the dough: Use your fingers to create small indentations all over the rolled-out dough before adding toppings, so it doesn’t puff up and create air bubbles while cooking.
Chill before slicing: Refrigerating the rolled logs for 30 minutes makes them much easier to slice cleanly without squishing the filling out the sides.
Don’t skip the olive oil brush: Brushing the outside of each roll with olive oil before air frying is what gives you those crispy, golden edges instead of pale, soft ones.
Cook in batches: Make sure the pizza rolls aren’t touching in the air fryer basket so hot air can circulate around each one for even crisping.
Use a serrated knife: A sharp serrated knife cuts through the dough cleanly without dragging or tearing, which keeps your pizza rolls looking neat.
Flash-freeze for later: Freeze pizza rolls on a baking sheet for 1 hour, then transfer to an airtight container or bag to prevent sticking. Refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months, and reheat in the air fryer, thawed overnight in the fridge, or straight from frozen.

How to Store Leftovers

Store leftover pizza rolls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days, or in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat them, pop them back in the air fryer at 350°F/175°C for 3-4 minutes until they’re warmed through and crispy again.

You can also freeze them in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 3 months with parchment paper between layers if you’re stacking them, or flash-freeze them first on a freezer-safe sheet pan for about an hour until frozen solid, so they don’t stick together.

Let them thaw in the refrigerator overnight before reheating, or reheat them in the air fryer from frozen for best crispness.

What to Serve With Air Fryer Pizza Rolls

These are perfect for game day parties alongside buffalo cauliflower bites, mozzarella sticks, or loaded nachos. A big Caesar salad or garden salad with Italian dressing balances out all that cheesy goodness.

For a snack spread, add veggie sticks with ranch, fries, or garlic knots on the side. They’re finger food that works best on its own or with other appetizers, not as a sit-down meal.
