A cool easy summer cocktail recipe full of flavor
So, we created a visually stunning, mouth wateringly delicious refreshing raspberry daiquiri easy summer cocktail recipe that we know you’re going to love!
This is one of those summer drinks recipes that you are going to want to make again and again.
What does this drink taste like?
Heaven. It’s the best raspberry cocktail. Ever.
Sweet cool liquid raspberry with a hint of rum.
We think you’re going to absolutely love it!
Do I have to use fresh raspberry puree?
Yes, using fresh raspberry puree is essential.
Remember, raspberries are the heroes of this delicious cocktail, so you don’t want to be cutting any corners on the flavor.
We appreciate that you can’t always puree your own raspberries but if you can, then here’s a two-minute raspberry puree recipe.
Raspberries aren’t in season all year, so sometimes you must buy your raspberry puree, just make sure it’s the best quality that you can afford.
Alternatively, you could buy frozen raspberries to puree.
Can I make this into a frozen raspberry daiquiri?
Absolutely!
This can easily be made into a frozen raspberry daiquiri by combining all the ingredients in a blender and then blending them into slush like consistency.
You can even use frozen raspberries if you prefer!
Then you’ll have a tasty frozen raspberry daiquiri cocktail to enjoy.
Can I substitute fresh lime juice with fresh lemon juice?
Yes, you can substitute fresh lime juice for lemon juice but just be aware that the flavor will change using lemon juice.
If you do decide to use lemon instead of lime juice, then when you are making your sugar rim, use lemon zest instead of lime zest.
Can I make this ahead?
Yes, you can make your raspberry daiquiri cocktails ahead.
Just mix the daiquiris and store them in the fridge and when you are ready to serve your drinks, just give it a good stir.
Just be aware that if you make the sugar rim ahead, it will become quite incrusted, so you may want to leave this until nearer to the serving time.
What equipment will I need?
You’ll need a fine grater for the sugar rim, a cocktail shaker, a jigger, Hawthorne shaker and a cocktail glass.
Take a look at our tip section further down if you don’t have any of these.
What should I garnish my cocktail with?
We think that a beautiful, sweet sugar rim is perfect for your raspberry daiquiri but even that needs just a little extra.
You can garnish your cocktails with a lime wheel or lime wedge.
Fresh raspberries threaded onto a cocktail stick would also look great.
Why do you wipe the rim of a cocktail glass with lemon or lime?
There are a couple of reasons why you’d wipe your cocktail glass with lemon or lime.
Firstly, give your rim a hint of lemon or lime.
Secondly, when you are going to coat the rim with sugar, wiping it first, gives the sugar something to stick to.
The more juice on the rim, the more sugar sticks to it, so for a thin rim, just lightly wipe it.
Recipe notes and tips
- No cocktail shaker?
No problem! Just take a large, sterilized jar with a lid, fill it with all of the ingredients, secure the lid and shake! While a cocktail shaker is always better, this will be a great temporary substitute. - If you don’t own a Hawthorne strainer (and lots of people don’t), then carefully use a tea strainer instead to sieve your drink.
- It’s not the end of the world if you don’t have a cocktail jigger, just use a measuring jug or even a shot glass if you have one.
- If you’re not sure about a sugar rim, then why not just coat one side with sugar? This way you can taste it to see what difference it makes and if it’s too sweet for you, you can drink it from the other side of the glass.
