It sounds silly to say that you need to plan ahead to make a cocktail, but if you have friends coming around for a party, then you want to make sure that everything goes perfectly.

You’ll need to make sure that you have got vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry juice, orange juice and lots of ice – if you haven’t go this, then make sure you plan a visit to the store.

Do I need to buy expensive brands of alcohol?

Absolutely not, not unless you want to of course.

You could buy store branded vodka instead of Absolute vodka.

The same goes for peach schnapps, you could definitely buy a store branded version instead of Archers peach schnapps.

Exactly the same goes for Chambord, that can be expensive for a small amount, so look out for a store own brand Chambord alternative (or make it yourself with raspberry juice and crème de cassis).

The real key to all of the cocktail recipes that you see on our site is to buy what you enjoy to drink and that doesn’t always mean the most expensive.

The secret to personalising your own Sex on the Beach cocktails

  • Instead of using standard vodka, why not use your favourite flavoured one? You could use grapefruit, cherry or orange vodka.
  • We’ve used freshly squeezed orange juice but you could use a carton of juice or you could leave it out completely if you don’t have any and then you have created a Woo Woo which also taste great – it’s amazing what leaving out one ingredient can do!
  • You could substitute the cranberry juice with grenadine if you’d like.
  • Chambord, which is a raspberry liqueur is often added and it’s a great addition as Chambord tastes great!
  • If you haven’t got any vodka then you could consider adding tequila which will give a real kick to your drink.
  • If you don’t have any peach schnapps, then you could try adding pineapple juice or even apple juice.
Lots of red cherries

Don’t forget the garnish

Garnish enhances and finishes your Sex on the Beach.

Use an orange slice, fruit or glace cherries, all would make excellent garnish.
