What kind of tequila should I use?

We used Kah tequila, and you only have to look at the deathly bottle to see that it’s perfect for making a Halloween drink with!

It’s housed in a Calaveras, which is used in Mexico in Dia de Los Muertos, which, translated, means ‘Day of the Dead.’

A spooky Halloween cocktail to get the party started!

We think it’s a dead good choice, but if you haven’t got a Calaveras full of tequila lying around, then use Blanco tequila.

Buy the best tequila you can afford, it really does make all the difference, but don’t break the bank.

And if you’re looking for a scary but tasty snack, why not try these mushroom skulls?

Ingredients needed to make a Halloween cocktail recipe, smoked sea salt, passata, mezcal, tequila Blanco, lemon juice, grenadine, vegetarian Worcestershire sauce, tabasco sauce and fresh lime juice.

What is mezcal?

Probably the best place to start is by saying that all tequila is a type of Mezcal but interestingly, not all Mezcal is tequila.

In short, tequila has a minimum of 51% Blue Weber Agave that it must be made from, but Mezcal can actually contain up to 30 different varieties of agave.

Do I have to use salt around the cocktail glass?

No, you don’t have to, but we think the smoky salt adds the perfect contrast to our cocktail from the crypt.

What glass should I use?

We use a crystal cut wine glass for our creepy cocktail.

You can use a wine glass or whatever glass you feel is spooky enough for your Halloween cocktail.

  • Got leftover lemon and lime?
Slice them and freeze them in freezer bags and then use them as lemon and lime ice slices in your cocktails.
  • Don’t have a cocktail shaker?
