There’s nothing like fresh baked soft cookies and making them in the air fryer makes them an easy sweet treat to make whenever you have a cookie craving!

How to make chocolate chip oatmeal cookies in the air fryer with step by step instructions

Making air fryer oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips in the air fryer is easy if you follow our simple instructions.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda, then set aside.

Using either a stand mixer or a handheld electric mixer on medium speed, cream butter with granulated sugar, light brown sugar, vanilla extract, egg, and salt, until light and fluffy.

Then gradually add the flour mixture until it’s virtually combined.

Now, stir in the semisweet chocolate chips and rolled oats until fully combined.

Cover the bowl and place it in the fridge for a minimum of one hour to chill.

Once chilled, preheat your air fryer to 300°F/150°C.

Using a cookie scoop, scoop the cookie dough into small balls, approximately 1½ tablespoons in size.

Scoop the cookie dough then place it in the air fryer basket, and flatten with the palm of your hand. Air fry for approximately 7 minutes.

Place air fryer parchment paper in your air fryer basket and place each cookie dough ball in the basket, approximately 2 inches apart.

Flatten them with the palm of your hand.

You don’t want to place them too close together as they will spread and then join together.

Air fry the cookies for approximately 7 minutes until they are golden brown around the edges.

Remove the basket from your air fryer and let the cookies rest for a couple of minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Don’t remove them immediately or the cookies will crumble.

Make a small batch at a time until all the cookie dough has been used.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • cup granulated sugar
  • cup light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • cup rolled oats

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda, then set aside.

  • Now, stir in the chocolate chips and oats until fully combined and place covered in the fridge for a minimum of one hour to chill.

  • Preheat your air fryer to 300°F/150°C.
  • Using a small scoop of approximately 1½ tablespoons, scoop the dough onto air fryer parchment paper, placing them approx. 2 inches apart. Then flatten them with the palm of your hand.
  • Air fry for approx. 7 minutes until the cookies are golden around the edges. Remove from the air fryer and leave for a few minutes to cool and then transfer to a cooling rack. Enjoy your cookies!
