How to Make Strawberry Dump Cake
A complete printable recipe and the measurements in both US customary and metric are available in the recipe card below.
I love how quick this easy strawberry dump cake recipe is to make. You don’t need any mixing bowls, complicated steps, or fancy equipment—just a baking dish and a few pantry staples. Let’s get started!
Prep Your Strawberries
Start by preheating the oven to 180°C (350°F). Wash and dice the fresh strawberries and then add them directly into a 9×13 baking dish. Sprinkle sugar and salt evenly over the strawberries. This step helps enhance their natural sweetness and creates a juicy, syrupy base.
Make the Cake Topping
In a medium-sized bowl, combine 1 box of yellow cake mix and melted butter. Use a fork to mix them together until the dry cake mix starts to form crumbles. Don’t overmix—you want to keep that crumbly texture.
Add the Topping
Evenly pour the buttery cake mix crumbles over the strawberries. Try to cover the strawberries completely, but don’t worry if some of the fruit peeks through.
